GambleAware Week

GambleAware Week

GambleAware Week | 19–25 October 2026

Gambling harm is not always easy to recognise. It can affect a person’s finances, wellbeing and relationships, as well as the people around them. GambleAware Week encourages our community to look beyond the common perceptions of gambling harm, recognise the signs and start open, supportive conversations without judgement.

This year’s campaign theme, Now we see it. Let’s talk about it., highlights the importance of noticing when gambling may be causing harm and creating safe opportunities for people to seek information or support. A conversation can be an important first step—whether you are concerned about your own gambling or the gambling of a family member, friend or colleague.

Throughout GambleAware Week, we are helping to make reliable information and confidential support easier to access. Members and guests are invited to visit either of our free onsite support opportunities:

Monday 19 October | 2pm–5pm
A BetSafe counsellor will be onsite to provide confidential information about safer gambling, gambling harm and the support services available. Visitors can ask questions, collect information or have a private conversation about concerns affecting themselves or someone they care about.

Friday 23 October | 12pm–3pm
A GambleAware information stall will offer practical resources to help people understand and recognise gambling harm. Visitors can also learn more about local services and the different ways support can be accessed.

Both visits are free, confidential and open to anyone seeking information for themselves, a family member or a friend. There is no obligation to share personal details—simply stop by, speak with the team or take away information to read when the time is right.

If gambling is affecting you or someone you care about, free and confidential support is available. GambleAware provides 24/7 telephone counselling, information and referrals to local support services—call 1800 858 858 or visit the GambleAware website. BetSafe can also provide information about safer gambling, confidential counselling and guidance on self-exclusion; call 02 9874 0744 or email enquiries@betsafe.com.au.
