As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, the Club has developed a dedicated brand that embodies the core values of the Club and the community we support. For decades, Revesby Workers’ Club has invested in programs and partnerships that strengthen the community, supporting initiatives across education, health and wellbeing, disability inclusion, domestic and family violence services, youth development, homelessness and social support.

Through partnerships with charities, schools, community organisations and local service providers, the Club continues to invest in projects that create lasting impact.

Each year, through ClubGRANTS, Revesby Workers’ and other clubs across NSW provide vital support to local community organisations, sporting groups, and charities that make a positive impact in our area. With over $1 billion in funding provided since 1998, ClubGRANTS is one of the largest grants programs in Australia.

ClubGRANTS funding is classified into 3 categories of eligibility:

Category 1

Supports community welfare, health services, and employment assistance programs.

Category 2

Supports junior and grassroots sport, community development projects, and provides in-kind support through use of club facilities.

Category 3

Funds large-scale sport, health, and community infrastructure projects across NSW through a state-wide pool

Revesby Workers’ Club is proud to support the next generation of local leaders, professionals and changemakers through the 2027 Tertiary Scholarship Program. A total of 32 scholarships are available to eligible students from the local community who are pursuing tertiary education. Scholarship values range from $2,500 to $1000, helping to ease the financial burden of study and assist recipients in achieving their educational and career goals. Whether you’re undertaking university, TAFE, vocational training or other recognised tertiary studies, we encourage you to apply and take the next step towards your future!

New applicants are invited to apply via the website by:

• Completing an application form
• Submitting Higher School Certificate Examination Results.
• Submitting ATAR Advice Notice.
• Submitting confirmation of enrolment / early entry scheme into university or TAFE.
• Submitting 1 written supporting references (from teachers, advisors, parents, community groups etc.)
• Submitting 300 word supporting essay on how the scholarship will help you with your educational journey.
• Providing any further supporting documents they wish to include (sporting, community achievements or similar).

Submissions after the 31st of January 2027 will not be considered.

The Revesby Workers’ Club School Subsidy Program, launched in 1986, supports local schools with funding for projects, learning initiatives, and infrastructure to enhance student outcomes. Since its inception, the program has contributed over $2.1 million to more than 30 schools. In 2023, the funding process was revised to a merit-based system, allowing schools to apply for up to $10,000 through ClubGRANTS, enabling greater support for impactful community programs.

May 2026 marks 12 months since Revesby Workers’ Club joined the Purple Friday initiative—a bold commitment to raising awareness of Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) and strengthening support for those impacted across our workplace and community.

What began as a visible symbol of solidarity has evolved into a whole‑of‑organisation movement, focused on education, prevention, and meaningful cultural change. Inspired by Cherry Street Sports Club in Ballina, the initiative was championed by Chief People Officer Sharyn Buhagiar, grounded in the belief that safety, respect, and support must be non‑negotiable.

Central to Purple Friday is the Club’s Domestic, Family & Sexual Violence Action Plan, which formalises long‑term commitments and accountability. Over the past year, more than 250 staff members have completed DFSV awareness training, equipping them to recognise warning signs, provide appropriate support, and foster a workplace that does not tolerate violence in any form.

Purple Friday is also a powerful visual statement. Each Friday, staff across the Revesby Workers’ Group, wear purple to symbolise strength, courage, and dignity. Last the Club also installed Purple Benches at Tarro Avenue and Brett Street Club entrances to reinforce that the Club is a safe place to seek help.

The initiative is deeply connected to the Club’s longstanding partnership with Biyani House – Revesby Women’s Shelter, supporting vital services at a time when domestic violence reports and homelessness linked to DFV continue to rise locally. This support has contributed to life‑changing outcomes, including the shelter’s recent redevelopment to assist more families in crisis.

In November 2025, Purple Friday gained national recognition when featured on the Nine Network documentary Helping Hands, highlighting its role in driving cultural awareness and reducing stigma.

Twelve months on, Purple Friday stands as a true reflection of who we are as an organisation. With staff at every level actively engaged and committed, the message is clear: Revesby Workers’ Club says yes to respectful relationships and no to domestic and family violence. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference.

For more than six decades, Revesby Workers’ Club have upheld a strong and enduring commitment to community support. During this time, the Club has evolved to meet the shifting needs of our members and the community. This legacy was shaped by visionary founding leaders like Brien Higgs—a foundation member who held various leadership roles, including Secretary Manager and Club President. Higgs was an early advocate for welfare support and wrote ‘In a working -class area there will always be incidences of hardship occurring caused by sickness, death or unemployment …the formation of a club was deemed to be the answer.’

In line with this vision, the Board have reaffirmed their commitment to community support through the introduction of a new initiative: RWCommunity – AMPLIFIED.

AMPLIFIED was developed as part of the Club’s emerging Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework. Recognising the increasing demand for diverse and accessible community services, the Club has committed to allocating an additional 10% of annual profits to this program. This initiative will provide a significant new funding stream with broader flexibility focusing on the following priorities:

• Supporting vulnerable community members—families, children, youth, and the elderly—facing issues like domestic violence, homelessness, and isolation.
• The Improvement of inclusive services for people with disabilities by expanding access, awareness, and support for carers and service providers.
• Ongoing support of First Nations communities through cultural education, visibility, and employment opportunities.
• The development of education initiatives for all ages to foster learning and connection.
• Supporting holistic health and wellbeing through initiatives that support both physical and mental health.
