On Sunday 23 September, Art For Parkinson’s – Parkinson’s NSW held it’s “Art The Parkies Way” Exhibition in the Function Centre Of Revesby Workers’ Club. The exhibition was opened by Club President Daryl Melham (AM) and supported by Club Directors Dennis Hayward and Christine Benham. Wendy Davis, from Art For Parkinson’s was on hand to make a special presentation to Daryl Melham of an artwork which one of the Parkinson’s artists did especially for the Revesby Workers’ Club.
Art for Parkinson’s provides people affected by Parkinson’s, a tool to reduce anxiety towards the disease and a way of adapting to the changes involved. The aim is to keep feeling full and autonomous. An exhibition such as this shows us what great work the Art For Parkinson’s organisation does in helping Parkinson’s sufferers. Revesby Workers’ Club is proud to be associated with, and to be able to contribute towards this worthy cause!
