Tertiary Scholarship Program Continues Decades-Long Legacy of Support
Revesby Workers’ Club’s Tertiary Scholarship Program continues to strengthen its impact in 2026, providing vital financial support to local students pursuing further education while building on a legacy that spans more than six decades.
This year, the Club’s Education Committee undertook a strategic restructure of the program, awarding 22 scholarships with a total investment of $35,500. In addition, 21 students from the 2023–2024 cohorts received ongoing support to assist them in completing their studies, bringing the Club’s total tertiary scholarship investment for 2026 to $47,000.
At the heart of the program is the Club’s Education Committee, led by Director Linda Downey and Director John Choueifate alongside Club and community representatives. The committee plays a critical role in guiding the program’s direction, ensuring it remains responsive to the changing needs of students while upholding its core values of opportunity, equity and community support.
The program’s ongoing success was formally recognised by League Clubs Australia, winning the John Knipe Award for Excellence in Education. This recognition highlights the Club’s longstanding commitment to empowering young people and investing in the future of its community.

As it continues to grow, it remains a cornerstone of Revesby Workers’ Club’s commitment to supporting the next generation—ensuring local students have the resources and encouragement needed to achieve their aspirations.
